I was raised the borough of the Bronx, in New York City were I attended school. I went to Morris High School, I Left home when I was about 16 or 17 not sure but I fell short on graduating, had to get job to support myself. My Family was always in the restaurant business, my uncle willie, Bless his soul was a Great Chef, and he would always take me with him, my uncle worked many jobs in up state new york, in the catskill Mts, and the Adirondack Mts. and
every summer he would take me with him from the time I was about 12 or 13 years of age which kept me off the streets and afforded me a great experience. I learned a great deal from my uncle. I remember working in a girls camp in the catskills Mts. and yes I was under age so technically I really didn’t have a job. But the owner paid me think about $50. bucks a week peeling potatoes, Big, Big Pots of potatoes and helping the stewart, and to get everything the cooks needed downstairs in the store room and I remember a couple of jobs in the adirondack Mts. one place was called the Sky Harbor restaurant, the owners name was mr. George mc'gowan, don’t hold me to the spelling, it’s probably wrong but I really had a great time then it was some of the best years of my Life .
By then I had my working papers and was able to go out and work on my own and the first job that I landed was in a Howard Johnson restaurant chain owned by
Mr. Carl DE Santes and also this was my first job as a cook I worked many yrs. for the chain, Lake george, Glen Falls, Saratoga,N.Y., and new York City And it doesn’t
end there i can go on. I was Given the Name Of Gerald Lewis, at Birth and There’s also the Egyptian side of me that I also incorporate into my life, so I use this Name also. I ‘am 70 years of age and in the first part of this year I bought a computer, upon the advice of a friend I decided to purchase an Apple, But a few years back another friend gave me a dell computer and my biggest problem was trying to set-up an email address and I thought that I would never learn how to do that but some how I manage to get a email account established, so to fast forward back to the beginning of the year that was about all I knew and still had plenty of trouble logging in and out, And I Gotta tell you that I never,ever thought that I would ever Build a website or Blog no,never,but I stuck with it and Now Here I ‘am my first site and if I can just get google adsense to monitize it Well that would Just Great. |
