Good health entails a high level of mental well-being. Do you know that many of us today are suffering from dangerous deficiencies, which cannot be remedied until we understand the nature of stress?

As the pace of American society accelerates psychological stress among the population particularly, managers and small business owners are soaring at an alarming rate. Stress is not just an annoyance; it has been linked to the onset of diabetes, ulcerative colitis, high blood pressure and other serious ailments.

In order to manage or decrease stress one must first understand that the body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or subconsciously expressed. Stress and worry are synonymous and at the heart of negative thoughts, when you think negative thoughts, the body sinks into disease and decay; at the command of positive thoughts, it becomes clothed with youthfulness and beauty.

Disease and health, like circumstances, are rooted in thought. Ill thoughts will express themselves through a sickly body. Thoughts of fear have been known to kill a man as speedily as a bullet; fear continues to kill thousands of people, though less rapidly. People who live in fear of disease are the people who get it. Anxiety quickly demoralizes the whole body, and lays it open to the entrance of disease. Impure thoughts will gradually shatter the nervous system.

The number one factor in healing the body is through spiritual understanding. When we reference the Bible, God brings health to those who are sick physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The teachings of the Bible not only tell of people's spiritual status but also concerned about their physical condition. This concern appears with an emphasis on healing, particularly in the ministry of Jesus. On several occasions, the faith of an individual was always the important factor in the healing of that person. From one of the New Testament chapters, Jesus spoke to a woman who was hemorrhaging, He said, "Thy faith hath made thee whole" (Mark 5:34; compare Matt. 9:29). Why did He say that? Because the woman was in the right frame of mind to be restored to health, her belief made her well again. There was not one negative thought that would hinder her from being healed.

One of the most important factors in defeating stress is to manage your thought process by changing your belief system; in turn, your mind changes that controls the nature of your body's health. Out of a clean heart comes' a clean life and a clean body. Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life and a corrupt body. Make the body pure and all will be pure. Change of Diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts. A little positive thinking destroys a multitude of stress.
